Do you ever wonder how to stay motivated? The truth is, motivation never lasts. If they did, there wouldn’t be a need for motivational speakers, motivational books, etc.
Motivation comes and goes, almost like the cycle of seasons. Especially when you’re pursuing your goal or trying to achieve something, that motivation tends to die pretty quick. It’s almost like you watch a video, get motivated for about 5 minutes, and it’s back to square one.
So how do you stay motivated?
In reality, everyone loses motivation. Even highly successful people. But it’s a matter of constant self-motivation, doing things that are productive, and using your time wisely.
Here are 3 things you can do to keep yourself motivated (Or to find motivation).
1. Setting a clear goal (Both short term and long term)
I find that having a goal really helps in motivating yourself. Think about it, if you don’t have a goal, then what’s going to push you to accomplish that certain task? So if you haven’t already, get a notepad out, get your digital notes, whatever it is, and think about your goal. It has to be crystal clear. Start by thinking about a vision (long term goal), and break it down into smaller goals (short term).
Make your short term goals realistic and easy enough to accomplish. Personally, I have daily, weekly and monthly goals as my short term. That way, when you accomplish those small steps, not only will you be productive but it will motivate you to keep going and move closer to your long term goal.

2. Surround yourself with battery chargers
This one is very important. Unfortunately, when you want to accomplish something, not everyone will have the same mindset as you. You need to find people who are similar or have the same goal as you. For example, if you have an exam to study for, surround yourself with people who have an exam to study for or something along those lines.
Do you see how this can help? If two people with the same mindset gather, they automatically charge each other up. Because they have the same goal, they can easily motivate one another to help achieve it. If you want to study but hang around with people who just party, then the outcome is pretty obvious. Likewise if you’re wanting to keep fit, you surround yourself with fitness enthusiasts and experts. If you want to do a business, surround yourself with like-minded business people.
After you’ve found yourself people who have similar/same goals as you, you’ll be more motivated and consistent than before. I guarantee it.
3. Start the day right
Yup, the start of the day pretty much determines the rest of your day. Every morning when you wake up, you want to make sure your day will be a good one.
Here are some activities you can do: Meditation, read a book, watch motivational videos, prayer, to name a few. More often than not if you do any of those every morning, your mindset will be in the right place. If you start the day right, it will cause a ripple effect to everything else that you do. You have a better and more positive outlook on things. This works the same if you start the day wrongly, so it’s a double edged sword.
Remember, your mind is a powerful thing. When you fill it with powerful thoughts, your life will start to change.
